This is an update on the fanpage...very good stuff! Read! Read! Read!
Hey Everyone,
An important status update on Melorafan.com:
Met with a local web designer yesterday. I avoided this option for as long
as I possibly could manage. However, I don't really think I have a choice
at this point. The bottom line is, I want this to be an incredibly unique
fan site, with each of the page's having their own design concept. It's the
only way I'll do it. I refuse to put together something that's based on a
boring template. I look around at some fan pages and you see the same thing
on a lot of them. It's almost like a grid sort of, with a large custom
header on top, and an x and y category axis meeting together in the corner.
There's always the bio square in the middle of it all, or sometimes news
alerts, etc. In other words, everything is boxed in. And Melora just isn't
a "boxed-in" type of person. No, she's a very colorful, splashy, unique
individual, and she should have a fan page that fits her personality. So
that is what we're going to do. What does this mean? Well, apparently, when
each page (every area of the site) is its own, original design, it's like
building 25 separate websites. In other words, it's kind of a pain. Each
design has to first be broken down into single elements before it's then
placed back together to fit on a grid. It's like painting a picture on a
canvas, in detail, and then later on having to scrape each layer of paint
away to be glued back together on another canvas. Well, not THAT much of a
pain. But you get the idea. So it's obviously going to take some time to
complete everything. And that's basically where Melorafan is at the moment.
The good news is that we can publish as we go. This means that as soon as
the home page is finished (which should be by the end of this month), I can
officially launch the site. Most of the links will not be workable,
obviously. But you and the rest of the public will finally see some
progress. This was the general idea behind launching on September 20, which
of course didn't end up happening, unfortunately. But now, with the help of
the web designer, you can bet on a launch happening very, very soon. He's a
really nice guy and is willing to work with my budget. And I think he's
going to help me make this page into something incredible.
I'm still keeping the Myspace page up to date with all the latest Melora
photos, news, and more. That page wont be neglected with all the work I'm
doing for the official domain. Don't worry :) Last month I made a Youtube
channel specifically for all the videos we just can't fit on the tiny
myspace page. I think there's about 30 videos on the channel right now, all
covering Melora and her many talents. It's easier to watch the channel
rather than sorting through the videos under a general search of her name.
You'll find that many of the videos in the general search don't even have
Melora in them. Also, the channel includes videos that may not be found
under a general search of her name. Melorafan.com has completed two of our
own compilations and you can watch them on the channel as well. You will
notice the absence of one or two clips (I didn't include the Dirty Dancing
pilot). Those are decisions I made for various reasons, but you can
certainly view them outside of the channel. Here's the link:
