i think people who use umbrellas are really rude. they have these huge canopys over their heads that hog the entire sidewalk and when you pass them on the street they dont even make an attempt to make room for you or anyone else to get by. all they would have to do it raise that light weight umbrella about a foot and then the little rivits on the ends wouldnt be a eye level, prime height for taking out an eye. seriously, umbrellas are fucking stupid. people could argue "well, i just need to stay dry because im on my way to a job interview..." well, get yourself a fucking poncho. seriously. ponchos are wayyyy cooler, look way better, you have more options as far as what style of poncho you could have and they dont hog the sidewalk. on top of all that, if you were going to something important, like a job interview for example and you showed up with a normal, run of the mill umbrella its not going to say much for your personality. however, if you show up with an amazing, extraordinary, stylish, non-selfish/not hoggingthe sidewalk poncho i'd be damned if you didnt get the job. and if youre not going to a job interview but still want to stay dry by wearing a poncho you would at least turn some heads while you were at it.
if you must use an umbrella i suggest that we make it common for you to have to use the side of the road as opposed to the sidewalk. its just common courtesy.
