I only have two essays to go. Herbology and Ancient Runes. I’m not in any rush to start either. I think I'll leave both till I visit my grandparents. It'll give me something to do while they go off antiquing, or whatever it is they do now that they've retired. I really should pay more attention to what goes on in their lives and spend less time ( Read more... )

Antiquing is much better compared to what my grandparents do.

Andrew's coming home? Anything happen?

We need to go hang out. I miss you too much.

And what do they do?

He just has to go back to university in October.

Do you want to meet up tomorrow? I need to get a couple of things from Diagon Alley. I think Cho and Anthony will be having lunch at Fortescue's, you can always meet us there.

Well, they like to practice the "Hindi way" while listening to polka and pondering about how smart trolls have gotten over the past one-hundred years.

I'd love to meet up tomorrow. Parvati is bugging me... she hates that I play piano for some reason.

They sound like they'd get on with my grandparents. They're the same, along with their antiquing, they have these long discussions on the history of healing, the goblin uprisings in Europe and classical music.

Great, can't wait to see everyone tomorrow.

Oh, wow. My grandparents talk about the Merpeople Reformation. As for classical music... they hate it and they hate me playing piano. What is it with people hating me play piano?

We should introduce them. I haven't got a clue Padma. I suppose some people just don't appreciate musical talent.

We should. And then we should run away as fast as we can so that we don't get attacked. My grandparents pinch cheeks.

That or I'm just bad at piano.

We'll have our brooms on stanby and fly out of their like our lives depend on it. I will not have my cheeks pinched. They sound like my Aunt Gloria. She's a notorious cheek-pincher. Just ask Terry.

I doubt that Padma. Did you hear from that...what was he called again, scout, from the academy your dad wanted you to join?

Aunt Gloria? ...I've heard things. Bad things.

Juilliard? Well, the Dean didn't say anything because he was quite disgusted with Aldrick's... suggestions about what he wanted us to do on the piano.

Believe them. Believe them all. She's a kitschy, garish blue eye-shadowed, gnome collecting, Royal Family loving nightmare. Seriously, vulgarity personified.

Lets hope he gets over the shock of meeting Aldrick.

Eek! ...Gnome-collecting? Oh wow. I think I'd have to run away. Gnomes are CREEPY.

Dad told him that Aldrick had mental problems...

Yes, they're bad enough, but those outlandish statues she has are completely bizarre. Her entire front lawn is covered in them.

HAHAHA Maybe he'll believe that and finally focus on the reason he was there and you'll get a glowing review from him.

AHH CREEPY. I'm NEVER going to see her front lawn.

I hope so... that would be nice. One of my first auditions are there and I'm quite nervous... flying on an airplane to New York and then playing in front of judges with no one there to support me? That's going to be... petrifyingfun.

And at Christmas it's worse. I used to be terrified of going to hers when I was small.

Have they arranged a date for that? I still can't believe your dad's refusing to let anyone go with you. Maybe you could ask Parvati to convince him to let her accompany you. New York is apparently great for shopping.

Worse? How so? What does she do...? ...I don't know if I want to know.

Yes, they've arranged for late September, though I'd have to check for the exact date. I'm SO nervous about it. It's rather early yet, but I figure that early is better. I don't think he'll let Parvati come because she would have to miss school for no reason, you know?

She used to have a larger gnome. It was actually the same size as me when I was four. This particular gnome was a Father Christmas gnome. And he looked terrifying. For years after, I used to cry when my grandad dressed up as Father Christmas. It's kind of funny now but Aunt Gloria had quite the traumatic affect on me during my childhood.

That makes sense. How about your mum?
