"It's a Zen thing, like how many babies fit in a tire."
Ohhhh boy. Summer is almost over. You've got Sunday and Monday to squeeze in any last minute wild rides before you have to hit the books again. I'd like to take this internet journal moment to look back at all those kickin' happy rockin' cool etc. summer times. WHy? Because my sleep theory is working kind of, but I need to do something to help me sleep. Oh and I had a lot this summer, considering I was able to drive myself instead of relying on some people for rides, which is nice and awesome. I hope you enjoy this look back at summer 2004 with Michael Lane, especially if you were a part of the magic.
#Kickin' it at Quiznos right after school with Mikey baby, Lauren, Blake, MikeM, Nathan!, and Alex Berry. The chicken carbonara is a sandwhich you can never go wrong with.
#The massive poker tourny at Carlsons house. 10$ buy-in, I got like third to last, but thats alright it was fun to watch.
#Tryin' to drink a gallon of milk with the Rudbergs, Bravo, Russell, and Greekanoff by my side. I didn't do it... but it was HELLA TIGHT when I blew chunks bro.
#Playin' an AWESOME version of capture the flag at Green Valley. I can't see without my glasses at night. It wasn't very cool.
#Sneakin' around Alamo Glen Drive with Michael Eng from his parents in my Land Rover because he wanted a RIDE to many a places.
#Hostin' Mike, Mike, and Codys hardcore band practice. We then swam with Nathan and filmed cody trying to do the gallon of milk experiment. He didn't succeed, but man who knew blowin' chunks was soooo AWESOME.
#Pretendin' to be Donald and Gary in Psych. Expressing my LOVE of David Thomason to our Psych class. Best friends forever yay!
#BBQin' at Codys house/ pool partyin' it. I can make some sick ass burgers/some sort of chicken tofu meat.
#Havin' an "unbeaten" streak in poker with my regular poker crew. I didn't lose any money for like 5 weeks and its still going too.
#Havin' all my luck wasted with Joshis poker group.
#Rockin' it to the Rx Bandits/Suburban Legends/Reel Big Fish/Catch 22(kind of). I recommend the Rx Bandits for everyone.
#Whatchin' Jon try to save his secret by doing the gallon of milk thing... he got sooo close, but he, like the others, blew chunks.
#Creatin' my own god damn live journal/xanga because I GAVE in.
#Improvisin' my gift giving abilities at Amrita's Bday party. Let's just say with Hemp you can do no wrong.
#Realizin' that I am not just Michael Patrick Lane, but ZOOT SUIT RIOT! I always get the flush my boy, and I'm really lucky ahahahahahha.
#Discoverin' the wonders of off-roadin' with my partner in crime Razer/panzy/Barracuda Man/Brian Russell. Ohhhhhhhh Barracuda.
#Touchin' men, watchin'' sex, and bein' scared at San Damianos with Joshi and KeeKee. Then later with Jeremy. Boy that place is cursed or something, some sort of evil lurks there...
#Surprisin' Nothelfer with CSL music at her Bday party. The first of many CSL shows this summer. Oh and whippin' out the secret song of a lifetime "Dammit".
#Realizin' that Spider Solitaire was invented by Jesus himself to bring the world together in happiness.
#Stone Valley? Land Rover? Drive! Greek = Oh no there are cops ahhhhhh!/panzy.
#Watchin' the show of my lifetime... Big D and the Kids Table. OHhhhhhh what a show. Sick, awesome, hella tight, cool, enjoyable can only begin to describe its greatness.
#Returnin' back to our roots by starting our XFLT games at night and then headin' to good ol' 7-11 for some night snackin'. Is that donut custard or cream? 99 cents.
#Playin' Whiffle ball and realizing that if you slam your bat real hard against home plate, anything can happen.
#Intense water basketball match! Team Mike Lane/Lauren Williams upsets the heavily favored Mike Eng/Cody Rico. W00t!
#Watching an unecessary amount of movies at home and at the theatre with a variety of people.
#Goin' to Great America and ruining Natalie Navas dreams of using a knee properly for a summer and watching Ross puke himself and then going to the hospital with Nava. The rest of us tried to keep on going and doing all the rides thing, but I just had to ruin everything.
#Findin' out that Shteeven is well equiped enough to fend off a small militia. That crazy Greek.
#Goin' to an 80's themed dinner party at Chevys... of all the places to dress 80's at. I was a box with colors. Then testing out my theory of sleep by skipping a night of sleep all together. It's genious!
#Goin' shirtless at the A's game with Dom, Joshi, and Chris my BOY! Then singin' a few Sublime hits and a few one hit wonders just to make the night a wonderful night.
#Rockin' the Imusicast with CSL. After that show I realized how intense we are on stage. We go OFF!
#Rockin' the Sunny Zhang's Bday party with CSL, we usually don't rock as hard at Bday parties, this party was no exception but the Zhang family was kind enough to pay us for our rockin' set. They also can put on one hell of a Bday party.
#Finally, Rockin' the Danville Grange, which I have to say was our most intense live show to date. Blood, mic stand knocking, more blood except from nose, and some hard rockin'.
That's a lot of stuff kind of. I tried to put it in chronological order, but I'm getting kind of sleepy at the moment so I can't think as clearly. If I forgot anything well you might as well comment about it and tell me, but I'm pretty sure I nailed the heavy stuff. I hope you enjoyed this look back at my summer, and to those of you who rocked it with me well I shake your hand my friend.
