This is the first of a few comic rants that I've been working on, and as I read them over, they really are rants. There's whining ahead... be forewarned....

Heh, I started reading comics in '74 as well with a Shazam comic featuring a city being attacked by (i kid you not) a rapidly expanding pink desert.

And i think I picked up an Avengers not long after.

I should state that I am a fan of Bendis and am enjoying the new Avengers. Have you heard about the upcoming "House of M" Where Professor X gathers the Avengers (both new and old) and the X-Men to deal with Wanda? That may push you over the edge : )

Shazam was fighting back the city being attacked by a rapidly expanding pink cupcake? strawberry mousse? oh, you said desert, not dessert. Never Mind.

I have seen ads for the "House of M". I have been afraid that they were taking Magneto back to the dark side. I'm ok with the professor gathering the Avengers and the X-Men to figure out what to do with Wanda. It's better than just knocking her out and then having her dad walk off with her.

They just redid the Legion......again a few months ago. And it isn't half bad

I'll bet it's fabulous. I mean, really. But after a while, I discovered I had lost my taste for reboots. May have been my turn away from comics in general, which I was as surprised by as anyone else. :)

Sigh... reboots... so tired of reboots of the Legion, even tho I kinda like Waid's version, why start over again? It gets old. I've liked most every version, but it gets harder every time to start reading it all over from scratch.

The nice thing is, even making Scarlet Witch evil... she'll be back. They've done it before, they'll do it again... and again... well... and probably again :P
