Bit of advice needed (since I'm clueless about US prices)

As an update to my last post, I got my visa! Two days and it arrived, so for all the waiting I had to do at the Embassy, they were quick about approving it.

I have a question for you all, since I'm not at all sure of what's considered expensive in the US and I'd love your opinion. I've had a letter from MSU offering me different packages with bedding etc (since apparently their beds are extra long), and I can't figure out if it's a good offer, or if it's too expensive and I'd be better off rounding up the things things I need once I arrive. The package I'm considering includes: 2 flat sheets, 2 fitted sheets, 2 pillow cases, 1 pillow, 1 reversible comforter, 1 quilted mattress pad, 1 thermal cotton blanket, 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 wash cloths, 1 bedside buddy. Price is 159$ (20% discount if ordered before August).

I've looked into whether I'll be provided with anything, and I think I may have two sheets, a pillow case and two towels placed at my disposal, but I'm not sure (I've emailed and asked, and am waiting for a reply). Blanket and pillow and comforter are definitely things I need, and towels if I'm not provided with them, (and a mattress pad is definitely something I'd love to have). All in all, there are a few things I don't really need in the package, but on first look through I think that ordering the things I need separately from the same place would be about the same price, so I think the best thing would be to either take this package or get the stuff I need elsewhere. It's definitely a pro that it will be delivered to my dorm, and I don't have to run around gathering these things myself (less stress is always good, and I have no clue where I'd find it or if those places are within manageable distance). My first instinct was that it's a bit pricey (I'll only be there for four months, after all), but as I said, I don't actually have a feel for the price levels in the US. So, help?
