): I feel ______.
I've been thinking of what I would do, where I would go once the restraints of school are gone.
Right in SEA, there's a group of minority people being hunted down by a military-backed government in Laos. Hunted like animals where thereafter females would be raped and killed, males are mutilated, children are attacked.
Refugees from the country are hiding at the borders of Thailand, a place so near our affluent country yet we are ignorant of this fact. While we are living in peace, in comfort, in security, these refugees are being threatened to be deported back where they will once again be hunted down and mutilated and killed.
These people have raced through jungles, over hills, with the military hot on their heels, only to have found a temporary safe haven in Thailand. Even so, fear of returning haunts these refugees 24/7. Right now, there is the urgent need to petition to the leaders and organisations of the various countries to help these refugees.

http://refugeesg.wordpress.com/ I've watched a video on the website depicting the situation in Laos. There's a boy who was tortured, his stomach and intestines are hanging out, but the worst thing is, he's still alive and completely aware of his surroundings. It's not bloody but the true emotions I saw impacted me- the fear, the sadness, are so real. And scary.
But hey, do something that only takes a few minutes of your time that could save these people from a lifetime of fear. While you are sitting on that chair in the comfort of your home, think about these people who happen to be human beings too.
