Today typhoon Pedring lashed out in Metro Manila, causing storm signal # 2 to be hoised over the capital. And today I remember to update my blog. No relation to the typhoon, I know.
I've been busy with appraisals this month, and for the first time in my working life I don't only worry about my appraisal, I have to work on 8 others as well. Appraisal discussions were finished last week, and I have until Friday this week to place comments and complete the appraisal forms. Last Friday I started interviewing for the backfill of my former teammate who went to Singapore to explore greener pastures, and I had two others yesterday, with three more scheduled for this week. It's a busy month! September has flown by so fast!
Over the August long weekend, my hubby and I and our HP friends went to Tagaytay for an overnight stay at the Royale Tagaytay Country Club. We travelled on Sunday. We had slightly different plans to begin with, but due to the heavy traffic which made this trip literally a road trip (what with the amount of time we spent on the road stuck in traffic), we opted to stay in the country club instead. No more wakeboarding in Lago or going to the beach in Munting Buhangin. But it was ok - it was the companionship that made it fun. The following morning we played two rounds of bowling (I was the lousiest player) before heading back to Manila. It was still traffic that Monday. George, Becca, Star, hubby and I had early dinner at Floating Island Restaurant inside Makati Med before going our separate ways.

Jerwin My parents came to Manila over the weekend (courtesy of promo fares) and it was nice to spend time with them, since we're rarely complete (me and my brothers with our parents). Saturday was devoted to food, bowling and movie at Robinson's Galleria, while on Sunday hubby and I claimed our voucher for a platter of rice and meat from Brazil Brazil, while the rest of the family had buffet. We then went to MOA and idled around until it was time for my parents to fly back to Iloilo. It was a fun weekend.
It was also on that weekend that I had my highest bowling score ever. When I was on my lousiest game I barely reached 40. When James and I were playing by ourselves in MOA my highest was 68. That weekend I had my brother take a picture when I reached 81. That was the first time I hit the 80-mark, which I still remember from high school was the score we had to get in playing duck pin bowling so we could pass. Then I beat my own record with a whopping 104 - I was amazed at myself. On the last round I scored 91. And I have my hubby to thank for patiently guiding me on bowling aspects like positioning and release. I'll post pictures from my brother's camera once I get them. The big question now is - will I be able to sustain those scores in future games?
