Tonight I'm not takin' no calls, 'cause I'll be dancin'...

Let's play the "How long can Micchi keep her promise to update at least once a week!" game. Betting pool starts over to the left, please keep it civil, house is paying 15:1.

My job is treating me fairly well. It's a boring job, but it's a nice place to work, and I've been at it for a month and a half now, so maybe I'll be kept on pretty long-term. The original group I started with was 10 strong...yesterday's official count was 4 (including me) remaining. I've had two cubicle-row mates asked to leave over the duration of this project, so I'm pretty stoked about, you know, still being there.

They are moving my desk from East Flex, which is a temporary area, into Claims Analysis proper, which I will take as a very positive sign. I know I'm being asked back for the Countrywide project, and I think we're just being kept busy until such time as the data entry for that has been sufficiently complete. I also know a lot of the long-term temps are coming up on the 1 year, so they'll either be hired on permanently or be taking a three-month sabbatical. I'm hoping they're not out of work three months, but for obvious reasons it would be a good thing for my position.

Durr, what else.

Went to a doll meet on Sunday with a group I'd never been with before. I was pretty stoked at the end. A little wary, as I always am until I've known people for more than a weekend, but hey. They're an older group in general, which...well, I love the group I hang with now, but I do get really, really tired of being a 24 year old woman hanging out with 15 year old kids. The older group, though...it was such a refreshing change to be offered wine at a meetup, man. (I did not partake, but it was a nice change.)

Plus, I got to meet someone who is going to bomb me with Tokusatsu and Sentai viewing parties. She also lives in Beaverton, which is where my job is, which is where I'm hoping to move to in October. Which means the occasional after-work cheesy Japanese television run. MUWAHAHAHA.

Also, she has Maine Coons. HOLY FFFFFF GIANT CATS.

I'm going to Kumoricon this year. It will be pretty sweet, especially since I'll also be cosplaying. This is one of the cosplays I want to do -- Sheryl Nome from Macross Frontier. It's a ridiculously simple outfit, and shoes will be hell to find, but I think it'll be great fun. I'll have a Ranka and an Alto to harass, so it will be extra fun. Except for having to learn Sheryl's songs. OH GOD I HAVE TO SING. OH GOD. One day, I will get her Galaxy Fairy dress, and it will be this explosion of BEAUTY.

The other costume I hope to do is Ryoko from Tenchi. I'm thinking this outfit, but we'll see. This is the definite costume, though, because I'm going with a Luffy and a Gilder. (A sea pirate, a sky pirate, and a space pirate walk into a con...)

And holy crap now I'm running late for work. ALSO LONG ENTRY. LOOK. I CAN DO THEM.

life update, doll rambling, job, cosplay
