Miscellaneous Baby Stuff
Limb Hanging
Turns out Serenity is a limb hanger. Several times I came into Serenity's room when she woke me up for a feeding to find a leg or a leg and half sticking out between the bars of her crib. The most dramatic was when she had both legs out the same hole up to her bum. One night she got me up three times and every single time she had at least part of a leg hanging out. That day I went to Sears and picked up the mess air flow bumper pads. It came in two pieces. One long one to cover the head, foot and stationary side of the crib and one shorter one to cover the drop side of the crib. So far she has only been hanging limbs out of the drop side of the crib so I only installed the short piece. I was concerned that she wouldn't like it because it obstructs her view of her room but she actually quite likes the bumper. I often she her gently touching it when she's awake. I guess it feels neat.
Mobile
In the middle of January, Serenity and I went to my parents' place for a couple days. On the last day of our visit we went to this discount place. Basically they resell any items that are returned to Sears. While we were there my mom got a playmat for her house and she bought Serenity a mobile to take home. The mobile was slightly damaged but nothing a bit of scotch tape couldn't fix. Serenity loves her mobile. She happily lies in her crib and watches it move about. I say that she's watching her soccer players play because there are three characters and three balls and the part of the ball that most directly faces the baby is white with black spots.
Nursery
Serenity really seems to like her bedroom. She is quite happy to play in her crib with one of her toys and watch the mobile move about. She happily takes naps in her crib, likes to play on her floor and often smiles when being changes on her change table. I'm happy that she likes her room. It would probably make more things difficult if she didn't.
Bath Time
Serenity loves bath time. I think she's going to be quite the little swimmer. I'm looking forward to the summer and swimming in my in-laws pool. Serenity has a bath every night before bed and sometimes she has a shower bath with daddy in the big tub. She likes to kick her legs about. Sadly the little bath tub I normally bath her in is shaped so that her legs are out of the water. At the end of her bath I usually try to reposition her and help her sit up so her legs get a bit of a chance to be in the water.
