Lucy and I should be arriving back in La in just a few hours. This week has been horrible and amazing all in one. I hated the meetings. I was sent over to see if we could expand our Japan network a bit more. It's our weakest part and they wanted me to go down and meet with some writers, producers, directors, and even some new talent. Some of it was very interesting and some of it was not.
Most of the kids I saw were good at one thing. They were either great singers, or great actors. Which is great--only we're looking for triple threats here.
Take a look at this girl right here:
She can act, sing, dance, and model. She's versatile, beautiful, smart, funny, and she enjoys the work. That's why we signed her. She is an asset to the company and we're not worried about her "slipping up" and going all Lindsay Lohan on us.
Every single person that Nickelodeon signs is like her. They are amazing at 3-5 big things, are smart and loveable and, in a nutshell, they're the whole package.
So when I got to Tokyo and see people who can sing amazingly, but can't act or model or dance or anything else--I get disappointed and feel like just shutting our Japan network down. We can't actually do that though. We have to try and make it better until the network actually starts to cost us money as opposed to making us money.
I talked to my father about it too. He said that we should probably send Tori to Tokyo to see if she could train up some of the singers we have in acting, modeling, and dancing. But she's in school and I shot that down quickly. However I think if we got a few acting coaches over there, we may get some progress going.
ANYWAY
The best part of the week was Lucy. She makes me way too happy and I don't deserve her one bit. I'm so glad that I have her though. We enjoyed nights in the hotel room together along with nights out on the town shopping and going to fancy dinners. It was a complete joy and I'm so glad that she was with me for this.
I am ready to go home though. I miss Adam like crazy and I can't wait to pick him up and see him. He wont get to come home with me until Monday, but I'm sure Grace will be alright with me coming over for dinner or something. She keeps saying that Adam needs us both, which is very true. So I'm sure dinner would be just fine. If not, I'll stop by to play with him for a few hours.
If you'd like to meet up today or tomorrow, I'd love to get a beer with you or maybe have dinner. I'm glad your back bro.
I never got to hear if you liked your birthday gift or not.
