I just had one of the best weekends of my life! Something would have to be pretty amazing to top this weekend. Thursday after work I drove to New Jersey to meet up with my friend Adam and then we drove down to Baltimore, checked in, got something eat and that was basically it for thurday. Then on friday I got my badge and the fun commensed. I met Johnny Yong Bosch, Mandy Bonhomme and Scott Houle. I went to some events and met up with some Kurama's and Hiei's and even a Jin from HunterxHunter. The next day I was looking forward to the Anime Idol competition though I was still very nervous. I went to the dealers room and met Justin Cook and Chris Huber and then Brian Drummond later on. The time for Anime Idol kept coming closer and closer until it hit me when my form was picked out of one of the twenty participants and I was on stage. I was the last person to go in the first round. I made two jokes to lighten the crowd up and my nerves and then put on a strong performance of the scene where Mitsukake from Fushigi Yugi gives his life to save the people hurt by the war in the book. I was trembling most of the time but I kept my composure somehow and my different character voices were still strong and unwaivering. I was satisfied with my performance and received good feedback from Ross Lefko but I wasn't sure if I was going on to the next round but I was picked with nine others to dub a scene from an Anime. We had to pick a random number and we all got a random scene. I got a scene from Now and Then, Here and There of a powerful monologue from Hamdo. I was familiar with the scene and did pretty well with it. My timing was a little off but Ross said that wasn't important at the moment. Everyone who participated was great. I didn't win one of the three top spots to go onto the finals at BAAF but I do have one more opportunity at BAAF and I will do my best again and who knows what will happen. Either way this was a major step forward. I'm very happy about this. Nothing could knock me off my cloud right now. I had an awesome weekend. I got my ass kicked at Go by Ethan, saw a bunch of friends, met some new ones and even didn't notice a few(SORRY!)but this weekend kicked major ass! The only thing missing was two friends that cancelled out but money rules the world unfortunately. I hope everyone else had a good a weekend as I did!
