A quick overview of what it does:
-collects ALL pertinent information about your machine (make, model, installed OS, serial number) and registers it with them
-tracks exactly what programs are running when and reports it back to them so they have a timestamped log of exactly what you were doing
-checks all of your software to make sure license keys are valid and not in use twice on the same network
That, to me, sounds like privacy infringement. In short, spyware.
