So here is my whirlwind of a week so far: drove home Tues. night (missed the U of I game) and almost slid into a ditch on I-65; saw Wicked on Wed. which was great; woke up at 6:30 to drive back to Bloomington in time for work; started feeling sick as I was leaving but still decided to take the bus home anyway; threw up on the bus; walked the rest of the way home in my vomit-soaked clothes; spent the rest of Thurs. puking; went to the health center Fri. morning and they gave me a drug that makes me very sleepy; spent all day in bed watching Family Guy and Sopranos DVDs; pulled myself out of bed to go to work this morning; probably going to miss the Purdue game because I still feel really weak.
The two highlights of the past two days were Tony and Julie. I don't even know this girl's last name, but she got off the bus with me and walked me most of the way home. Who gets off a bus and helps a girl who has just puked all over herself? I know it sounds stupid, but it's little things like this that make me believe in the goodness of mankind. Also, Tony has been amazing. My own mother couldn't take care of me as well. I really hope he doesn't catch this...
On the job front, I got a call from a woman who said she saw my resume on CareerBuilder and knows of an editorial assistant position for some medical association. I didn't call her back because I was in a drug-induced stupor, but I'm really curious about it. It didn't seem like she was with the company, so is she some kind of headhunter? Is it a scam? I need to call her on Monday and figure this out. I qualified for an interview with the OSC, a government organization that specializes in translation and media know-how. I'm pretty sure I would have to move to Washington if I got the job, so should I even bother going to the interview? I have to make all these decisions and all I want to do is go back to bed.
