HereI didn't really start to feel like Lisa until the very end, but I'm pretty happy with it, all in all. This one features more rampant re-naming, since I would like a little more distance between my writing and the WoT books/universe, and because I didn't want to dig up the Big List of Names. The differences are mostly cosmetic, but that makes

Actually, that spell presents a whole new, interesting challenge--in order for the problems that our truncated party faces to be interesting, we can't simply be able to solve them with our uber-powers. I figure we've got to be at least level 20 by now (I mean, hell, if winning a war and defeating the Big Evil doesn't earn you at least one level, it's time to murder the DM), which means we're pretty much the baddest-asses left. However, contrary to what Lisa and Kayla would surely like to think, much of what needs doing now can't be solved by a lightning bolt or a flame strike.
Which isn't to say that those things can't help...
(Also, I may need to come up with epic rules for the Dynasopher class.)
The bit about collapsing--I think I was kinda channeling Bujold there. If nothing else, strategic collapsing seems like an Ivan move, if he were really desperate. I didn't like being humorous there, but that's how the words came out.
Elizabeth was always a yellow. In the original timeline, she was sent with Lisa to give her the training in channeling that she would've gotten if she'd been able to stay at the Tower, while Lisa would provide Elizabeth some real-world experience, with the bonus of giving the party a dedicated healer that we sorely needed (the rules reason was that Lisa took the Leadership feat). In the new timeline, I expect that practical experience was the primary goal, but you know the Dynasophers. They rarely serve a single purpose with any given action.

A little humor in the middle of a dramatic situation is not always a bad thing.
Speaking of Bujold, she is the master of that and it works to very good effect for her.
Have you read Cruse of Chalian? The climax of that book comes to mind as a good example of what I am talking about. I think I was tearing up and giggling simultaneously when we read that.

Mmkay.
It's not like I actually paid much attention to Elizabeth:p

That's a good idea. Did she ever actually get to do any healing? I don't remember her every healing anyone. If I did, I'd probably have remembered that she was supposed to be a Yellow!

They probably also wanted someone they thought they had better control over keeping an eye on Lisa Phoenix and reporting back to them.
Or, if they didn't, they really should have:p
