I just got a job in fricken market research and the archaic old woman asked me to take my nose ring out! I don't even see customers face to face! Next time she asks Im just going to say, if they really want to promote a professional image they should start with getting rid of the ripped jeans and thongs rather than picking on normal body piercings just because they werent 50 years abo when she was my age. Or I could just say its a religious thing. Nose rings or piercings of any kind didnt exist before the 60's/70's when Indian religions sprung up in the west. Many of my friends have had their nose peirced since they were 8 years old. So if its naivly percieved as hostile in the west, they should have a look at the origins of peircing and what it symbolizes. They certainly couldnt ask an Indian to take their nose ring out because it would be religious discrimination. But they'd be too ignorant to know that of course, having done nothing but work in a call centre their whole life. I would rather not work amongst such archaic views. Soon I'll be paid to stand around in corsets at Bar Burlesque! I hope. Plus Im sure my art will proove to serve as enough extra income. I've just finished "Pierrina the clown" and have started on "Madam Gothel," Rupunzels evil but sexy dominatrix witch.
