long time, no entry
So it's been awhile since I updated my LJ. I know, where have I been?
Well, as most of you should know, I moved back home. Yes, I've been living it up in Bruce County once again. And aside from wanting to kill my parents a couple times if only to get them off my back, I'm doing okay. Actually, I'm doing great!
So I think I mentioned that I was working at a pizza place in Walkerton. Well, that job lasted about a month. Apparently I didn't work well with any of the other girls there (even tho I'd only worked with one other girl there and none of the others), so I was given shit hours. Actually, there was a whole week where I wasn't on the schedule, and when I called for the following week's schedule, they had given me a 3-hour shift one day. So I told her that I wasn't interested in working there anymore.
Then I got a call from Community Living in Walkerton. They're an organization that helps the developmentally disabled community in Walkerton and the surrounding area live and work independently. I had an interview with them, and it went well enough that I got called back for a second interview. The second interview went well, and then it came time to call my references. Well, the person I had asked to be a reference for me in Windsor was unavailable at the time, so I ended up calling the b***h at the pizza place, and she said she'd give me a great reference.
So now I've been working for Community Living Walkerton & District for the past 2 weeks. My title is "Support Worker". I only have one person that I work with, but he's about all I can handle right now. We've had a few, er, kerfluffles in the past week or so. I had to call the police on him on Monday night because he hit me and he's already got a sexual assault charge against him. He spent the night in jail, and was back at home on Tuesday when I came in to work. We're still working together, but I have learned a few techniques for next time.
Next weekend I'm taking my First Aid training. I've never done first aid before, but I need to have it for my job. And in September I'm taking a Non-Violent Crisis Intervention course, another requirement for the job. Actually, it's too bad I'm taking it in September, I've had a need for it already on the job.
The pay is great, and I get paid for my mileage and other expenses. I'm only working part-time, but it's still 51 hours every two weeks, and the schedule is set up so I know when I'm working all the time. No more waiting for a schedule to come out so I can plan my week.
Otherwise, life is beautiful. It's so peaceful here, compared to the city. Granted, there isn't as much opportunity for getting laid, but I think I've matured enough that masturbation will just have to do. LOL
