yawning into the chasm sea

Feb 21, 2009 23:05

It's been stormy, raining on and off all day-ten minutes of crazy hail, then fifteen minutes of sunshine, then a half-hour of rain and another brief reprieve, etc. I had the house to myself and vacillated between reading copperbadge's new original novel and studying for my final Law exam. Seeing as we've had a particularly dry winter and I love stormy weather ( Read more... )

I'M NOT INTO HETALIA buuuut... my flist is seductive. *covers face*

Better than shipping Israel with its neighbouring countries, anyway; we both know that can only end in tragedy, not to mention outright war. And I don't mean the OTP-my-pairing-is-better-than-yours kind, either. XD

Hetalia Axis Powers, the fandom which will ruin History lessons for you, forever, guaranteed. :D

Um, well, I'm not actually into the fandom and not likely to step in anytime soon, but idk, whatever floats your boat? It hits (albeit glancingly) a major squick of mine, THE squick, even, which is trivialization and eroticizing of the Holocaust. (Not to mention battles, genocides, manslaughter and war crimes in general, depending on which historical event you're focusing on.) Also, it's a bit too ~kawaii bishie~ for my tastes. But, you know, to each his own and all that, plus I'm told the fandom is bitchin' awesome and really fun and friendly. I can hook you up with gaviotas, she's a friend of mine who runs the Hetalia capslock comm, she could probably tell you about it more (and more accurately) than I can.

ZOMG I READ IT. Or at least, I did, until my source for scanlations abruptly ran out and I have no idea where to get new ones, which is a pity because some of the new foreign butlers look absolutely SMOKIN' HOT. Even more than my uncle's shishlik during Independence Day when one of the younger cousins poured the jug of kerosene on the goals. YES, THAT SMOKIN' HOT. Good times, good times.

s;dkfdh OH MY GOD d-did I do that? Is it (perhaps inadvertently) because of me? Because if so I might not be able to live with myself out of sheer self-fail. HOW CAN I PIMP FANDOMS I'M NOT EVEN A PART OF, WTFFFF WTF WTF THIS MAKES NO SENSE.

On the other hand, does this mean you support Israel/Japan? *waggles eyebrows* >D

Your post/comments made me comment about my interest to lihsa who is very much into Hetalia fandom, and she... pushed me off the edge. idk I'm not a fan of Israel IRL, so basically I just love Japan. And Japan/Germany is hilarious. I think Korea/Japan is pretty epic, too!

Ooh, Japan/Korea! Agree with you there, although again, more in an abstract, bystander-y way than any actual fandom savvy. 11th grade, you know, we're hip- and elbow-deep in WWII material, so theoretically it would be the perfect fandom to get into, but the craziness of it scares me a bit, no offence meant. >_>;;
