Winter holiday gift making hath begun...

with the start of the epic project. I am *gulp* making a Dr. Who scarf. Yes, friends, I am (novice knitter that I am) diving headlong into the 22 foot monstrosity of maroon, fawn, rust, mid-brown and dark brown we saw gracing the neck of Tom Baker. I have 2 inches done thus far. EEP! Will be doing a stained glass piece for the Grove version of Dirty Santa. Will also be doing some other stained glass pieces for friends and friends' kids. Some knitted (or nifty knitted due to time constraints) bits and bobs for other friends and friends' kids. My own offspring will be getting mommy made stuff as well. Well, in addition to the purchased items (only one of which is she allowed to request specifically). One of those purchased items is a children's hand-cranked knitting machine so she can make her own doodads. That was not, incidentally, the one item she requested, but is totally up her alley. Perhaps by giving myself this long I MAY have a hope in Hel of actually finishing it all this year. May wimp out and make candles for some people, as that is much less time consuming than knitting or stained-glass putting together. But, I will do my best to make good stuff.
I will admit that the Dr. Who scarf is rather daunting, but it is surely going to be worth the effort once finished. Wish me luck;)
