Well, this has definitely been a long week and a half. I stayed at Nathan's from Sunday to Saturday and then Aunt Ann's from Saturday until Wednesday (today). I am pretty much exhausted. I am also burnt on my arms, shoulder's, back, legs, chest, feet, and face. I went to the beach for 5 hours at least tuesday with Ruby (Aunt Ann's grandaughter, almost 2) and ran around constantly after her. Anyway I am getting ahead of myself. Last weekend when my mom's family came down was great. Me, my brother, and Julia (his fiance) went to their apartment in Summerville (near Charleston) Sunday night. We watched Julia's niece (Morgan, 6 months old) from 7 am until 6 pm everyday until Friday. I now have a new policy with babies: I only change wet diapers!!! Too many bad experiences I guess. Tuesday, my brother went to Gaffney to help his best friend work a play in the auditorium at their college. He didn't get home until sometime wednesday so it was just me and Julia for a while which was interesting. I don't remember exactly what day it was but I had an interesting experience one night and I actually wrote about it on here. I don't know exactly where that will lead. NE Way...Nathan and Julia took me to see Charlie and the Chocolate factory Friday night or rather me and Julia took Nathan considering he was the one who really really wanted to see it. It was actually better than I thought it would be but Johnny Depp really really freaked me out as Willy Wonka. This version was not nearly as good as the Gene Wilder version (for those of you uncultured people: I am talking about the first one when I say Gene Wilder because he played Wonka.) After the movie we sat in traffic for a couple of hours and went to get the new Harry Potter book which is Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I wanted to go to Barnes and Nobles or Books-a-million but both were really crowded and had people waiting in lines out the door and around the corner.(literally speaking :)) Instead we went to Walmart and there wasn't really that bad of a line. I got my book and went to the apartment where I tried to read it but fell asleep. Saturday I had to go to Aunt Ann's (beach) but I got up and read some before I left and read a little in the car on the way there. I didn't get to finish it until Saturday night because I didn't have time. It was a really sad book and I don't think it lived up to the standard that JKR has set for herself. I cried. Sunday I went to Church and rode down the strand with my dad. Monday, we went and got me some school clothes. I still haven't gotten my shoes yet though. I bought some really cool shirts though. Monday night my parents and I went to the Garden City Arcade right down from Sam's Corner. I had alot of fun...we saved our tickets so we could go back tuesday but we went back tuesday and got more tickets and I still couldn't find something I wanted to get with the tickets. Tuesday, we went to the beach where I got burnt up terribly. My dad came later after my aunt and ruby left. We swam out and he helped me catch a few good waves with my boogie board. It was really cool because me and my dad don't really get to spend much time together where we aren't worried about something or each other or fighting/arguing. Tuesday night we went to my favorite restuarant which is Miyabi's. (formerly known as Kyoto's which is a japanese steak house where they cook the food in front of you) My sunburn was just coming out and i already felt crappy but then the cook guy kept doing fire just trying to pick on me and the heat got to me so I had to leave and didn't get to eat much. okay that description doesn't really make sense so ask me if you want to know what happened! Anyway we got up and came home this afternoon. My dad called Mr. Rogers tonight to ask some questions about band and I got the motherlode of information. The show is Fantasia. The songs we are doing are Beethoven's 5th, Sorcerer's Apprentice, and Firebird Suite. My mom is designing our shirts. I get my music tomorrow and I have to call everyone in the band to tell them that Band Camp officially starts Monday 8am-1pm. Mr. Roger's changed it but only told a few people thinking that they would tell everyone. I don't believe anyone knows. Anyway to make a long story short I have to call and tell everyone. I found out that there are like 8 trumpets signed up but 3 might only be doing concert band. All of them are freshmen. Only one has ever marched. It should be interesting. Mr. Rogers also knows that I want to be Band Captain because my dad told him. I will hopefully end up being: Band Captain, Brass Captain, and Trumpet Section Leader. that is real cool, lol... Man I am such a band geek. Oh Julia has to talk to Mr. Rogers because she is not on the list so if anyone (megan) talks to her tell her to call either me or him at the high school. Richard is actually on the list. That is news to me so I really want to figure that one out. I am not even sure whether I want him in the band anymore. I am just really confused on the subject of Richard Barrett. I am guessing that nothing can be resolved until school starts or until band camp starts for that matter. I think I still like him though. I have been trying to get my mind off of that subject which is proving very hard to do. NE way I gotta go to bed now...l8r
