Cornucopia of the Weeds
The wild flowers of autumn.
Palette of subtle harmonies in the Angstrom scale.
White - Queen Anne’s Lace.
Buttercream yellow - Snapdragon.
Cornflower blue - the spike star flower.
Deep pink - Dwarf Hollyhocks.
Soft-stemmed bush - Fall’s Lilac mimic.
Goldenrod; and magenta field of Rye.
Rust and dun - the lacy heads of grain.
In their variety and their profusion,
Making an Eden of the tall grass roadside.

An autumn storm is different from a summer storm.
It doesn't bring weather, it brings season.
Change.
I want to write a poem about it, but I have no words.
And so I lie.
And listen.
To the big air moving through the trees.
And on my skin.
Now I understand Libra.
The Scales of the Air.
