[Having arrived in one of the minority of empty houses to be found, Horatio Caine was spared the indignity of walking around shirtless. He's already got his suit and shows and all that classy stuff on before he's ready to set out into town. Moreover, he also has gone out of his way to skim this book he found. It seems almost like a blogging site, in a way.
And he found mention of a Welcome Center. With that in mind, Horatio is rapidly realizing he's not in Miami anymore. If anything, the climate is much, much colder than he's used to. The fact that this house didn't seem to have electric lights helped in this conclusion too. Thus, as he flipped a bit further and read the entries of all confused, perhaps kidnapped peoples...
Well he read the guide. And was very unsettled by the guide. He concluded that following the map he has open on this journal in hand, he should go find the welcome center. And similarly, as he stepped out of the house, to no one in particular, he said:]
Well this place... sounds just heavenly.
[And then he put his sunglasses on. Cold or not, there was a glare here.
