Obamaniac?

I think I might be one of those... even though (as crystaltear  can attest to) my true politician!love is for Dennis Kucinich (yes the short guy with the hot wife) I seem to be enjoying all things Obama pretty well.

(Although I don't know about Hillary for Secretary of State, I think she'd do better as the Secretary of Health and Human Services)

Anyway! I was listening to Snow Patrol yesterday and the song "Warmer Climate" and the first verse made me think of Obama and the following he has and the movement within the population that he created with his campaign.

"Tell me if I'm going crazy
But everything you said amazed me
It seems too easy on the ear to
Be something I should adhere to"

'cause seriously, who thought we'd believe in anything anyone in government says anymore.. certainly not me

"You are the cry that turns to laughter
You're the hope that ends disaster"

A cry for change that turned into the joy of presidential victory.. and a hope that he can end the worst of the US government's messes

last two lines of that song:

"I'm so glad that this has taken me so long
Cos it's the journey that made me so strong"

I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and let's face it, people.. if Bush hadn't stayed in office for all those 8 years, most of us would still be closed in the cocoons of our insignificant lives.  I know I didn't take politics seriously until 2000.  And if Gore had won, most of us probably wouldn't know the genius of Jon Stewart.  So it was worth the journey, and I'm glad we're here, even if this president isn't able to deliver on all his promises.  Because even if Change isn't accomplished in Washington, it was accomplished within all of us. We are Changed. We just needed a leader who understood that ...and we got him.  Yes we did :)

ETA: This post feels so over the top, but I seriously mean all of it

Also, if you want the song, lemme know.. the rest of it is typical relationshippy lyrics, but it's pretty

politics
