sumo!!
sooo today lexi and i went to sumo... hehe since we could bring in whatever we wanted (foodwise) we went to the combini and bought some snacks ..and they (lexi and her kansai gaidai friends) bought beer and chuhai XD ...i tried some of the strawberry one..yuck >_< i hate alcohol XDDD *hides from everyone*
we went to our seats and sat and watched sumo..for 5 hrs i think o_O ..but strangely..it didn't seem that long while we watched...but i swear we talked story and ate alot more than we actually watched XDDD the beginning matches were boring..since they're the lower ranking sumotori...and yeah..they were boring -_- plus they have less time to psych themselves up...so they werent' as flashy as the higher ranked ozeki (the rank below yokozuna)
what i found interesting today...was the number of gaijin watching O_O..there were gaijin allll around us! O_O it was weird...and everytime people passed by..they seemed to be gaijin o_O not to mention there were alot of people from lexi's school that seemed to come that day...very strange....
well now for the matches...so i while watching it...i found out that lexi played judo in high school too O_O well she played in fresh and soph year..and i played in soph, junior and senior year..so thats prob why i dont' remember seeing her ^^;;;;; (we're the same grade level) and we were commenting that sometimes..the sumo matches looked like judo O_O and its true!! well the grappling looked more like wrestling than judo..cuz judo u grab clothes not the person.. but when they threw each other...it looked aloooot like judo O_O straaange isn't it?
hmmm i dont' really know any of the sumotori actually ^^;; except for the bulgarian dude kotooshu who's been on tv alot XDD and asashoryu who's the tournament favorite....so when kotooshu came out...and the flags with his ads came out...i started laughing cuz the "Burugari (Bulgari) yogurt" was one of his sponsers!! XDDD hahaha i just thought that was funny XDD kotooshu won his match pretty easily..despite what looked like an injured knee o_O and so did asashoryu..in fact he won his match so quickly that it was boring >_<
oh andn there was this little jpn boy behind us..that was amazing O_O he knew like..allll of the sumotori! o_O scary...and he would cheer on this favorites XDD it was cute :3 he was cheering for asashoryu when he appeared around the ring..but it wasn't his match yet..then he said "oh (insert name here) and (insert other guy's name here) must be wondering..why asashoryu? o_O" XDD so cute XDD
and then we also kinda talked a little about how there weren't very many fans....and we started talking about how the jpn must be getting uninterested cuz there weren't that many jpn getting to yokozuna .....and that recently theres been too many gaijin..which i can understand..i saw about....4 haoles...and i know one asian guy was from korea (cuz his thingy had a sk flag on it) well that and they announced it on the speakers...but those damn things are so staticy..i can never understand them >_< even if it was in english >_< well i can kinda see the reason for it..i mean theres been only 68 yokozuna ever..in the 300 years since the title was instated...and well...2 of them are from hawaii XDD akebono and konishiki XDD both have since retired and akebono was recently in a K1..or was it ultimate fighter match....and konishiki..is always on tv shows in jpn....and i've heard of other gaijin who have the yokozuna title....i think the jpn are starting to lose interest cuz of that...oh wellz too bad for them XD its still fun XDD
