The russet man sat and stared at the screen in front of him, his gaze never faltering. He felt so numb since the day he walked out of her life. His eyes lingering to last photo they had taken together. She was on his back, her arms around his neck as they both stared into the camera. He knew that having any reminder of her would only bring him more torment toward himself, but it was the only thing keeping him sane. The memories of their times together, her smile, and her innocence haunted him in his solitude.
Hearing a knock on his door, he placed the photo down and headed to the door. Opening he was surprised to find her standing there as beautiful as ever. Before he could say anything she wrapped her lithe arms around him, hugged him for dear life and buried her head in the crook of his neck.
“Bella…,” he whispered. “My beautiful Bella.”
“I told myself I wouldn’t miss you that I didn’t need you, but every day I would remember what it felt beside you, to hold, the smell of your hair. I missed you. “
“Sam, I’m yours now and forever.”
