quick update of my busy life...
lol.
slept in today...if you can call waking up for a 9am english class sleeping in. lol. but yeah, since i'm going to play scales for dr rust to get out of fridays for the next couple times, he let most of us sleep in.
camerata today was so amazing. we sang through this gorgeous song and since it's kinda hard to get in, everyone in there can read music really well so you could get a realistic feel of what it was going to sound like in a matter of 10 minutes of reading. so yeah, this pretty song and then, LUX AURUMQUE!!! *squeal of delight* oh jeez it was amazing. and then when we went back for a final read over some soprano just picked up the solo line and it was awesome. it was what bret would call an "eargasm"...not to be awkward or anything, lol. yeah so the music nerd in me died and went to heaven from 10-11. dr thorn was walking around listening to people and that made me really nervous. she's definitely not someone to cross. but she's so awesome.
got invited back to both parties tonight. allison, one of the gamma chis called me at lke, 1:30 this morning to tell me that if i was not going to be able to pledge that i needed to drop out because i was going to take up a spot that could go to some1 else when the sorority was already over quota. i assured her that i would be pledging and that i definitely didn't want to drop out. so yeah, she basically told me that the one i fit in better at wants me too. the gamma chis explained the whole bid matching process to us and it's really complex. hopefully it won't be that complex for me...*crosses fingers*
anyway, enough about the greek system. econ today was better than it had been. i volunteered information and he was like, "yes that's correct. you got good scores on your quizzes when i checked them. good job!" lol. that made me feel really good. especially because there are 2 girls from each sorority in my class.
oh another thing. yesterday the dean of the music school was like, "oh hello marissa! sign in and get your name tag" and i was thinking, wow she remembered my name! but then i realized that the class she teaches(opera workshop, which i would currently be in if i were trying out for the opera) is only like, 40 people big so she can probably remember all the new freshman. i didn't think i'd like a small school, but i really do. it's nice having important people know you by name. =)
oh yeah, and i had lunch with becca today!!! yay becca! <3 i love my shirt! and you forgot to give me your address.
ok shower, maybe a nap, then i'm gonna do some homework and get ready to impress my potential new sisters. lol.
