is a wonderful place when you start to make friends in the city you live in. Before last week, while Laura was still in town, I could count my friends living within 20 miles of me on less than one hand. That's right...outside of Laura, I really didn't talk to too many people or hang out with too many people. Now, things are different. Maybe Laura going to Temple for a few weeks will be good for me. I am being forced to socialize with other people, for fear of boredom! And it's going well. I can now say that over the past week and a day, I have had 3 really great experiences with the people living here. On last Wednesday, I went out with a friend Brandie, cause I was going stir crazy for people to talk to, and we ended up talked for a few hours and just hanging out in general. Then, Saturday, Brandie, Laura, and I went all around College Station. We lunch and ice cream, went to a bookstore and a game store. Then, tonight, I went to dinner and a movie at Enrique's (QuiQue's) house. Quique and Margie were there, and it was a absolutely sublime evening. There was time to play Mario Kart and see a wonderful movie "3:10 to Yuma". It was wonderful and I suggest watching it whenever possible. I thought that when Laura left, I would be dead to the world. Instead, for once, I am taking it upon myself to find others to be around. I am not going to let the world tell me that I am stuck here all night. I will get out and be around people I find fun and fascinating. It's amazing what a few positive experiences outside the house will do for one's mindset.
