Да уж. Безсудебное изъятие налички - основный вид дохода некоторых полицейских формирований:

IJ:
Muskogee law enforcement seized and tried to forfeit over $53,000, most of which had been raised for charities (including an orphanage for refugees)

According to IJ’s report Policing for Profit, Oklahoma law enforcement can keep up to 100 percent of the proceeds from forfeitures. Between 2000 and 2014, law enforcement seized $99 million, the vast majority-72 percent-derived from cash forfeitures.

IJ:
On five separate occasions since May 2021, local law enforcement officers stopped Empyreal vehicles on highways. During three of these stops, officers seized the bank deposits the vehicles were transporting [$1.2M total]. Sheriffs’ offices in California and Kansas then transferred the funds to federal law enforcement to take advantage of lax federal civil forfeiture practices. If successfully forfeited, up to 80% of the proceeds taken through the federal “equitable sharing” program would then return to local law enforcement to spend as it pleases.
