So i Definitely waited 30 minutes to pay 3.55 a gallon of premium gas because thats the only gas they had. The other 6 gas stations I went to were closed.

Bush isn't so great after all. Actually I think he sucks. My point will be proven sooner or later if not now.

Of course, you can't really blame Bush himself, but rather his administration for a few things. There is, for example, a government tax on oil and gas products which the administration COULD have (temporarily) taken off in order to appease the general public. In that sense, the government is slightly responsible for high gas prices.

However, I don't really see why the government would want to do that. Most people don't realize the tax exists, and so even if it were taken off the gas would still be around $3.00 and people would still complain. Further, the government is making tons of money right now taxing something that has an incredibly high demand. It would be dumb not to keep the tax going because the government is running serious deficit as is and I don't really think it can afford losing more money, even if it would "make people happy."

Of course, there are some other reasons why the government would want to bring prices down, but those hypothetical situations haven't come up yet.
