Rain, Rain, Go Away....
So, for all those of you who haven't heard yet...
Tami and I awoke this morning to find the front half of our living room and part of Phelan's room soaked through to the concrete slab our apartment is built on. Aparently overnight, during all the rain and storms, we were a victim of flood damage. Like much of the rest of the metro area. At least we didn't have to be rescued via a boat or anything like that.
The apartment complex has already been out and run a wet vac over the top of the carpet and they have stripped the padding from the affected areas. The maintenance guys said they'd be back later in the week to put down new padding. I have already contacted our renter's insurance agency and started filing a claim for our possibly damaged items, which include: 2 bookshelves, 2 entertainment centers, an end table, and coffee table. The damage isn't too extensive so they probably won't need to be replaced but I wanted the claim on file in case of possible future damage. Especially since they are calling for even more rain in the coming days.
