This client just told me my journal is about to get hijacked. AWESOME.
First of all: thanks to juniper for turning me on to an awesome band, The All American Rejects. They're SO much fun. Like Neil Diamond plus Fountains of Wayne plus The Rentals.
Huge amounts of recent happenings. People have been asking what I've been up to, and I have only the most mundane of answers: "Nothing much, I guess." This is actually rad. What I"ve been doing is trying to set up shows for the band, and for some friend's bands and for some bands I've started corresponding with. I've been doing this so much lately that it isn't a big deal. RAD. We had to pull out of a show we were going to play with our buddies Fenway Park. I feel SO bad. I'm trying to find a band to replace us...On that note, the band actually has some great shows coming up. We asked if we could open up a show for Ulitmate Fakebook at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, who, rightfully, told us "fuck no". I love asking, though. And I can't blame them: for shows like that, it's in their best interest to book bands that someone's actually heard of. So, once again, the FourMinuteMile SoCal Invasion is put on hold. I'll keep bugging them though. I think we're going to have some shows coming up at Cobalt Cafe in L.A. and Xanth in San Diego. If either of those places suck, I'd appreciate a "head's up"...we do have a great show coming up at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco next week, with Time Spent Driving and Eleventeen.
