The intent of the personal perception filter on Ianto was more for his own protection as a baby, placed there by his mother... It's messy and has its own issues, and keeps Ianto from seeing a lot of himself (as the Doctor's comment in part 4 has indicated) (I think) *checks* (Whoops, I erased that part -- what the intent was, was to indicate that the perception filter on Ianto has kept him from seeking out a lot of himself, which isn't good. The Doctor likes to seeks out new things, and more importantly, is old enough to protect himself. When Ianto was small, he wasn't.)
It occurs to me that I ramble a little too much :)
So, what would it take to take the filter off? Or, more to the point, what kinda plot-twist are you going to dump on poor Ianto's head in the sequel that will result in the filter being taken off?
Thank you. I wanted to hit on what Jack had been through, and that he had not dealt with it at all, but to keep it within Jack's range of reactions around others, and playing it a little understated made the reaction have more omph.
(Also this is my first time writing a slash relationship, and trying to write a realistic conversation between Jack and Ianto almost melted my brain, but I think I didn't stray too much on this one)
