Weird SGA and odd HP thoughts

Two crack!theories.

Harry Potter: So, you know how JK Rowling did that interview recently in which she was all like "I decided last week that I may kill off some characters"? And Fandom collectively decided that she decided at the last minute to kill Harry?

Yeah, so I've been thinking about this. As JKR said, she wrote the last chapter years ago and has only made tiny changes. In my mind, this means that the decision to kill Harry (or not) was made several years ago. The sudden death of Harry would facilitate a total rewrite.

Plus, if she kills off Harry, she's going to destroy a generation of children. Therapists of the world will be in the money for decades to come.

My bet: Harry doesn't die, or at least is alive at the end of the 7th book. Voldemort is dead, and wackiness ensues.

As for Stargate Atlantis: A theory about Sheppard's past (warning: Intensely cliched sci-fi conventions).

Based on nothing whatsoever, except that it's sci-fi and we get shit like "Luke, I am your father" *hand slice* I was wondering if part of the reason we know nothing about Sheppard's past is because they're going to pull a parent thing on us. What if the reason he has no family at home, and he can use the Ancient technology better than anyone else is if he's got a parent who's an Ancient.

I know, it's like the worstest cliche EVER but we know from SG-1 season 9 that there were some unascended (de-ascended) Ancients on Earth.

It's a horrible idea, right? I love it so much, I might have to write the fic. K NO.
