Yay! An Inevitable fic! You should all go read the Inevitable fic by watcher457, For the Taste of Something Sweet part one and part two. It's really fun, taking off on the idea that Siva (that Parseltounge vampire from chapter 44) wants to get to know Harry a little bit.... better.

*pokes flist* go read.

"OMG My father is now the world's biggest House fan. Am I going to have to break down and watch that show?"

Yes. You are absolutely going to have to break down and watch that show. It really is that good. :)

It really is that good. You should start watching it right now. Or as close to now as you can manage.

I suspect watching it *right now* would involve a DVD purchase... must investigate.

I don't think it's out on DVD, but I could be wrong. I may have remembered seeing episodes for purchase on ITunes, but again, could be wrong. I bought BSGS2 on that though.

Well, yeah. The first season is superb. In the second season, House goes from amusingly rude to outright assholish, but the show's still good. I mean, it's got Hugh Laurie! Acting American! And Robert Sean Leonard! Acting like he's in love with Hugh Laurie! And really attractive younger actors using medical terminology as they furrow their adorable brows. Also, Michelle Trachtenberg guest-starred last night, which was fun.

The weird thing is that _House_ is this good despite being one of the most formulaic programs I've ever watched.

Definitely. You can actually clock the plot twists in about 90% of the episodes. 30 minutes in means it must be time for misdiagnosis #2 for the evening.

It's the characters and characterizations that make the show.

That's what makes or breaks any show. Now I *really* need to get this show.

Snerk. That's true enough. There's suspense - the actual diagnosis, whether sex is involved, who will collapse in the teaser, and what attitude Cameron will try this week - but rarely is it plot-related suspense.
