Was it something we said?
Thanks to aregulardyke for the unexpected news that King Subs closed up shop at the beginning of this week. The timing isn't lost on me; Saturday night was the last catered event at Franco's -- our event. Tim had told me a few weeks ago that Franco's was going to stop catering, and he was calling to ask if it would be a hardship for us to have to change our plans. I told him we really didn't have time, and he said he didn't want to leave anyone in the lurch.
I actually spent a few minutes talking to Tim on Saturday night in the back room at King Subs after our dinner. Of course, he didn't hint at this. Talked to me about Jim Rogan taking over Franco's, and about their food offerings at King Subs. I grabbed a menu on my way out. Guess I don't need that any more.
I'm glad they didn't leave us in the lurch with no Saturday night dinner, and I hope the cash we gave them came in handy, but I also feel for their staff who suddenly have no jobs, including my friends.
