I was driving to a friend's house south of town to give her doggos a midday visit since she was going to be out for a very long day, and decided I'd take advantage of the Dunkin' offer of 100 bonus points for Monday ordering ahead, and one of their other current offers, at the Elmira Road Dunkin' on my way there.
A classic donut for $1 with purchase of a medium or larger coffee seemed like a good choice, so I tapped that offer, added a medium hot coffee (with unsweetened blueberry flavor for the heck of it) and an apple spice donut to the order. I figured it would be $2.83 + $1, or $4ish with tax. Not bad for coffee and donut these days, right?
Well, without asking, those scoundrels at Dunkin' rang it up for just $1.69... switching me to the free medium coffee with any purchase offer, and charging me full price for the donut. So less than $2 instead of over $4. That's pretty good customer service! Not sure if it was an automated decision by the app or intervention in the store before I picked up my walk-in order, but I'll take it.
