The Day Habeas Corpus Died
He did it; George W. Bush signed the Military Commissions Act of 2006 two days ago, first thing in the morning on October 17, 2006, a piece of legislation that abolishes habeas corpus permanently and allows the President personally to choose who is considered an "unlawful enemy combatant."
