ASS BURGERS
I promise that there's a serious conversation behind that title. Namely: I'm pretty sure Otacon has Asperger's Syndrome.
For those of you who don't know, Asperger's is kind of like light Autism. My little brother has Autism and, at a conference, Mom learned about Asperger's and said, hey, that sounds like my daughter. I haven't officially been diagnosed, but I have it. And the other day I was explaining this to a friend and realized that Otacon's got a lot of the symptoms.
Symptoms include an affinity for patterns (programming), social awkwardness, the inability to read people, being naive/oblivious/dense as all hell (he never realized what REX was), and anime. No, seriously, people with Asperger's are drawn to anime because of the previously mentioned inability to read people's emotions or tone of voice, etc, (example: I never know if someone's kidding or not), and since the facial expressions in anime are so exaggerated it's easier for us to tell what's going on. Plus anime's just awesome.
This post has a fanfic related point; do you guys agree with my amature diagnosis? 'Cause I'd kinda like to write a fic involving Otacon with Asperger's, but if it doesn't make sense then I'm not going to do that.
