(no subject)
Hi all! ^_^ I'm kind of new to the MGS fandom...just got into it through zarla's fanart a few weeks ago. But so far, it all looks really awesome! I've been on youtube looking at the cut scenes, and I'm keeping an eye out for the PS/2 games...plus, I've obviously been reading every fanfic I can get my hands on. XD But there's something I've been wondering about...
Doesn't anyone write Otacon/Snake? I mean this seriously. I've been through the comm's memories, a couple archives, I even went to ffn! I think I've probably read somewhere between a dozen to thirty different Snake/Otacon fics in the past week, and I found one where Otacon topped. And he had to tie Snake up to do it. Sad, fandom. Very sad.
I'll keep looking, of course, but...doesn't Snake ever get to bottom around here? If you're going to write him as being comfortable enough with his masculinity to be attracted to other men (the angle most authors I've read seem to be going for), then why can't he be comfortable enough with himself to bottom? Taking it in anal sex doesn't equal submission. Doesn't anyone else find the concept of muscular, manly men voluntarily taking it sexy?
...I was just wondering, that's all. Not that you ladies aren't doing a great job as it is, but...yeah. If anyone knows where I could find fics like this, a rec list would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time. ^^

To clarify, I was not intending to come off as caustic, or impolite in any way. The "sad, fandom" comment was an attempt to be funny, which obviously failed. I rarely take things very seriously, but rudeness happens to be one of the things that I do. I apologize to anyone who I upset with this post, and hope they will forgive me. I was not trying to mock the fandom, or the talented authors who write within it. I was just trying to comment on a trend that I personally thought was bad for the fandom, and hopefully start a discussion that would give people ideas for fixing it. I was actually seriously hoping to be told that I was wrong, and given a list of fics that proved it. Would someone who was only interested in hurting people and lording it over them hope for that? I'm just sorry that didn't come through in my post. I don't suppose we can try starting over? I think I saw a save point somewhere back there...
