Fanmix: "Dawn Into Ash" [Big Boss/Ocelot]
I heard once that the best kind of album is the kind that first makes you want to dance around the room, and ends with you crying in your bed. I tried to do something like that with this.
It starts with Ocelot meeting Naked Snake, and carries through to Ocelot's death at the end of MGS4. I tried to stay to canon, but there's a little here and there that's my own speculation. Rating is, I suppose, R for coarse language and adult themes.
1. Du Riechst So Gut by Rammstein
Major Ocelot doesn't know who this strangely fascinating man is, but by God, he's going to find out. 'Lust at first sight' isn't precisely the right phrase, but it's the one that comes to mind.

2. Man With The Golden Gun by Alice Cooper
A brand new set of guns, and the young Major is set to try again to hunt a hunter. Maybe this time he'll catch him.

3. Whether You Like It Or Not (I Love You) by The Frogs
The duplicitous nature of Ocelot's obsession. Also reminds me of the scene in the plane at the end of MGS3, when Ocelot's stopped trying to impress Snake and is just frustrated... And of course, then it works.

It's funny how our feelings have changed.
4. In Control by Die Toten Hosen
Post-MGS3, and Ocelot has joined Big Boss, regardless of what people think. There must have been a lot of lonely nights waiting for radio contact from BB. Still, he's grown to like it this way by now. The contrasting excitement when he's with him again is enough.

5. Go Tell The Women by Grinderman
A tiny bit of personal fanon; I know it's not really stated Ocelot was there at the time, but I figure he was around somewhere just before the creation of MSF. This song is meant to be for the tiny period of time they would probably call a lazier interlude, all introspection and light melancholy from BB. Ocelot is content to go along with it for now.

6. Peacemaker by Sonata Arctica
And of course, as these things always do, it starts to go a little sour. I can't help but imagine Ocelot probably ended up being used as BB's personal gun, and it started to get to him after a while. But he was working towards a better future... Wasn't he?

7. Get Even by Angelspit
Arguments and bitterness. BB knows the kind of man Ocelot is, and no doubt knows he might turn on him. Ocelot loves him, but are his ideals really still worth fighting for? Angry, brutal sex and co-conspiration in the dead of night; better to turn on the world than to really turn on each other.

8. Shoot by Magnum
BB starts to lose it, cracking under the intense pressure. Even if that's only how it looks, Ocelot is concerned. Solid Snake is rumoured to be on the way. A tense moment in BB's office, with BB telling Ocelot to get out of the way or BB will kill him himself. Ocelot, by now, is resigned but bitter.

Then disappear like a ghost

9. I'm Your Man by Leonard Cohen
A year or so later, Ocelot tracks him down again. It's been a long time since he's had any real purpose. Apologies and regret.

10. Cowboys Are Frequently (Secretly) by Pansy Division
This doesn't really need much explanation, does it?
Cowboys are frequently secretly fond of each other
Even though they take speed and drive pickups and shoot their big guns;
There's many a cowboy who don't understand the way that he feels towards his
brother;
There's many a cowboy who keeps quiet about things he's done.
11. The Wrong Thing To Do by Mikelangelo And The Black Sea Gentlemen
Deeply entrenched, with the long-planned gamble starting in earnest. Ocelot will do it, because it's BB who asked him to; but even a gunslinger has a right to be a little afraid of what's going to happen.

Dealing with a long entrenchment, and BB is nowhere to be found. The plan must continue. BB might really be dead this time, but Ocelot knows better than to believe that.

13. Revealing Too Much by The Honorary Title
Flashbacks to a life they might have had, as Ocelot looks at the charred corpse in the oxygen tent. Time to set the final piece in motion; but before he surrenders completely to the new personality, one last look at what he's working for.

14. Hold My Hand As I'm Lowered by Noah And The Whale
The end of the final boss fight in MGS4; Ocelot lies dying in the arms of BB's spitting image. Close enough. Maybe it was all worth it. It doesn't matter now.

And finally, BB walking in the cemetary, looking over what could be Ocelot's headstone. He doesn't have long, but then again, there isn't much he has left to do.
