These are a few things I meant to post about earlier but never got around to :/
-huge thanks to Fly for fielding questions. I don't have home internets atm and am trying to keep up via stealing my guy's smartphone & borrowing the connection of an innocent relative who has no idea what I'm using it for but that's some pretty limited net access so if there's anything you need to ask, make sure you cc it to Fly.
-I wouldn't usually ask this but it's Christmas and there's lots of first-time-posters around - so go easy on crit unless the post indicates otherwise.
-You're welcome to crosspost your Christmas gift to mgs_slash or to any other place you want it to be, but please post a copy here on mgs_fanworks too.
-Don't fret too much about tagging - Fly, me, or anyone (yep, you can tag each others' posts) can catch up on it later - but if you are tagging your post remember to add 'secret santa 2009' as well as the usual set of tags. Newly-minted tags for never-before-seen pairings will be created asap.
Rating tags are fairly hazy, especially for art; as a general rule SFW art goes under 'rating: g' as a completely SFW browsing tag is a wonderful thing. Cheesecake (ie. topless characters, sexy posing) & mild intimacies or violence are 'rating: pg' or 'rating: pg-13', non-extreme gore and non-graphic sex are 'rating: r', and I think you know what 'rating: nc-17' is when you see it. Again, don't fret over it if you're not sure; you can let the mods get on it some other time.
-Sometimes, prompts go missing in action. Prompts suffer casualties; prompts are orphaned by war. But in MGS fandom we care about poor traumatised orphans and wish to adopt them, all of them, and so shortly we will have a Meme of Prompt Orphans in which all MIA prompts can be, like the empty Christmas stockings they are, filled to the brim with doodles and commentfics.
If you're still trying to finish your gift and you don't think it'll be up within the next few days (say, before the 30th), please get in touch via email or PM. That way I'll know not to include it in the meme, plus I can email your recipient to tell them to spare their F5 key for now.
