Crappy day
Ugh... Spent nearly all day at work tackling a serious failure of our file server's hardware. RAID card died. Not cool. Fortunately, the machine was still under a big, beefy mission critical warranty, so I was able to get spare parts and a technician on-site within hours to fix it. Still, one hell of a day. And it's only Monday. :-( Man, I sure hope the rest of this week is relatively quiet. *knocks on wood*
Oh, and a question for you ACen veterans out there. Maria and I have stayed at the Sofitel for the past few years because we cannot stand the Hyatt - actually, Hyatts in general. Too many bad experiences with them. However, it now seems that the Sofitel is changing hands or something. Not knowing what's going on there, we're trying to decide where to stay for ACen 2010. We don't mind having to duck outside to get to the con, but we want to stay within short walking distance of the majority of the con. Anyone have a good hotel recommendation? (Don't bother saying anything about the Hyatt. I don't care if you've always had good experiences or whatever. I will not stay at anymore Hyatts when I can possibly avoid it.)
