Drum Major Camp
Awesome... except my arms are sore from a lot of conducting every day.
I learned a crapload about conducting, and Sam and I scored high in those areas. But most importantly, congratulations to Dana who was the 4th ranked Drum Major of the 86 drum majors at the camp! Overall though, our school did really well. Sam, Dana, and I all received Big Ten Drum Major Awards for doing well at marching and primarily, conducting (for Dana, that's her second year in a row!).
Dana got to be the Drum Major of the Drum Majors at camp during a practice because she scored so high (placing her fourth). That's reallly reallllly reallllly good :)
The lahser drum majors are really cool also, along with our rochester cronies and my marysville friends. There are a lot of cool bandos across the state. It was nice knowing that I'm not the only one that blasts band music from my room (when you walk down the hall during breaks, you hear marching band music being played from the dorms).
Anyhoooo... 19 days until marching band starts. I'm extremely excited for this upcoming season.
