car tunes

My boyfriend lives 45min away from me. It's kind of a pain sometimes, but we get used to the drive, and split it. Also, now that I'm old enough to drive by myself, its more manageable.

Anyway, the point I am getting at- driving to Chris's house is therapeutic for me, because its basically the farthest I drive by myself: long periods of time on the same straight road. These times give me a good opportunity to partake in one of my fave activities- singing along with the radio at the top of my lungs- WHILE OF COURSE WATCHING THE ROAD AND MY SURROUNDINGS WITH THE UTMOST FOCUS AND CONCENTRATION. I have discovered that there are some songs that are just absolutely perfect for singing in the car- and I am proud that I don't have a CD player or ipod hooked up in my car- its just me and the radio (usually on 101.3, occasionally on 95.7 or 93.1. Here is a review today of those songs that stick out in my mind while driving- the songs that make me happy while singing along...

-"dontcha" by pussycat dolls: such a lousy song, but I can't help belting out along with these talentless girls. My fave is the version w busta rhymes.

-"What would you do?" by city high: at cathedral, at least with mary and tina, whenever someone said hold up, we would go "hold up- what would you do?" and start the breakdown of this song. It's such a non-pop topic, but gosh if it doesn't have a beat that I can't resist!

-"Mr. Brightside" by the Killers: has anyone else noticed that the first and second verses of this song are the EXACT SAME? I first realized this driving by the minigolf course in agawam on the way to Chris's house this summer. i like singing the part about "taking a drag"- it makes me feel so scandalous

-"Yeah" by Usher, Ludacris, and Lil Jon: Take that, rewind it back, Urrsher got the beat to make ya booty go "uh". I feel naive when singing this song, though because though I get the general idea of what several of the dirty phrases rapped by Ludacris mean, I'm not sure if I'm right or not. Kinda like that angus SNL skit

-anything by Britney Spears: some of my fave Britney songs to sing along with in the car include "Sometimes", "Toxic", and "Everytime". (My fave non-carride Britney songs to sing are "From the Bottom of my Broken Heart", "Not a Girl Not Yet a Woman", and again- "Sometimes".

Does anyone have any other songs to add to this list? Please comment!
