When I talk to people, they always seem so sure of things that I don't know they should be so sure about... how to "do" church, what Jesus would say about the US war policies, how to best fix the economy, etc.
There is a funny football commercial that has now become an annual occurance during the playoffs. The commercial goes back to the beginning of the season where fans are making predictions about certain teams/players/outcomes for the season. All of the predictions sounded pretty good at the time, but proved terribly wrong when it came down to what really happened.
I wonder if it's going to be like that when we die. We'll look back through time and see the foolish statements we made when we were alive. They may have sounded great at the time we made them, but they turned out to be some of the dumbest suggestions ever.
