I'm not too keen on the latest Samsung TVCs I've been seeing on cable. The first is about a guy that signs for an item that is delivered to his house instead of his neighbor's. The item brings him joy and popularity that leads him to claim ignorance when confronted by his neighbor, the rightful owner of the delivered item, about the missent item.
The second commercial depicts a mid level employee climbing the corporate ladder through the subtle blackmail of his superiors. The content of the blackmail is footage from a company party captured (and presented) using Samsung products.
Are these really the values we want to encourage in fresh graduates entering the corporate world or early to middle class folk? Is this how Samsung sees the market for their products? Am I reading the TVCs wrong?
