And then, in one fell swoop, that guy is ripped away and gone forever, in one of the most heinous ways possible. That's it exactly. I liked Cassidy but it turns out that guy never even existed. I imagine that is just a fraction of what Mac, and everyone else who thought they knew him, will be feeling. The thing is that while it does make since that Cassidy could be evil considering his genes and upbringing I just never saw it. If Dick were smarter and smaller in stature then he could be this manipulatively evil. I say smaller because if the other people can physically beat you up then you need to use your brains to make sure that they don't.
You know, if Keith had really died (which, boy am I glad he didn't), Veronica, Logan, and Dick could have formed there own Little Orphan Annie club of sorts I figure. Veronica would be president and treasurer. She'd make Logan secretary and Dick wouldn't be on the board. I didn't believe that he had died but I couldn't think of a reason for him not to until he showed up at the end. I just didn't want him to be dead.
Oh, and at the end, when Kendall says, "Did he pin his pin on, or was he too shy?" I'm going to have to watch that again because I missed it. I guess I was still focused on the kissing. I want there to be kissing but I'm afraid they will do the same sort of thing they did last year where there is Summer LoVe and then they hate each other again by the Fall. I want to see the LoVe this time.
The thing is that while it does make since that Cassidy could be evil considering his genes and upbringing I just never saw it.
Yeah, and I have thought about this and why the writers wouldn't give the audience more clues as to where the Cassidy storyline was heading. I think Rob must have really wanted it to come as a shock to as many people as possible, so he didn't want to incorporate anything extra to show who Cassidy really was. I mean, I do understand that, too. As it was, a lot of people (you can see from a poll of TWoP) thought it was going to be Cassidy that killed those on the bus before the finale aired. I just refused to believe that, and I couldn't believe so many other people thought that it would be him. If there had been more clues, I'm thinking it just wouldn't have been very surprising, and Rob didn't want that. Of course, the price is that people who really liked/loved Cassidy hated seeing all that snapped away so very suddenly. It's like, as an audience, you go into shock and no no no, not possible. That's how I was when they first started doing it. But as the explanation went on, I think Veronica realizing he raped her was when I finally quit fighting it and just went, "Okay, good show Rob; you got me."
If Dick were smarter and smaller in stature then he could be this manipulatively evil.
True, and people would have believed Dick as a killer a lot easier probably, but I also love watching that character (in a very different way than Cassidy of course, but still), so I would have hated the loss of him as well.
Veronica would be president and treasurer. She'd make Logan secretary and Dick wouldn't be on the board.
Hah! Yes, of course. And Veronica would call meetings of the "officers", so she and Logan could kick Dick out whenever they wanted to and make out.
I didn't believe that he had died but I couldn't think of a reason for him not to until he showed up at the end. I just didn't want him to be dead.
I actually thought he might really be dead. I had heard that Enrico was on Jimmy Kimmell (I think that was the show), and he hardly talked about VM, so I thought maybe the reason was that he had been killed off. Plus, with V going to college, I could just see the writers deciding to write him out, kind of like how they killed off Buffy's mom (albeit not until the fifth season, but still). Even when Keith goes into the kitchen, at first I thought it would just be V imagining while she's crying on Logan what she wished would happen - kind of like how Buffy dreams Joyce is revived and taken to the hospital and they say she'll be alright before Buffy is snapped back to reality.
I am very glad that was not the case, and he was still alive, though. I would have really disliked him being killed off.
Okay, now that I can breath (W00t Season 3!)I can think about all of this again.
I think Rob must have really wanted it to come as a shock to as many people as possible, so he didn't want to incorporate anything extra to show who Cassidy really was.
That's it. I can't think of a single scene where Cassidy was on his own and (possibly) just being himself. He was always around someone that he would have to 'act' in front of. When you lay out each of the facts it is easy to see Cassidy as the killer. That is also true about many of the other people on the show. Duncan for example.
True, and people would have believed Dick as a killer a lot easier probably, but I also love watching that character (in a very different way than Cassidy of course, but still), so I would have hated the loss of him as well.
The weird thing is that I think that murder is the one thing Dick couldn't do. He is evil but not quite cold blooded. I didn't like him at all at first but he has grown on me, like a fungus. I enjoy watching him now.
Plus, with V going to college, I could just see the writers deciding to write him out, kind of like how they killed off Buffy's mom (albeit not until the fifth season, but still).
The episode that Buffy's mom died was very good and I really didn't like it. I hate the idea that you have to kill off the parent to make the 'hero' really stand on their own. This happens over and over in stories but in real life you hardly ever find a very successful person who becomes that way after being orphaned. Good parents aren't usually something you need to overcome in order to become a good person yourself. As unbelievable some of the situations in Veronica Mars are I don't have any trouble believing them because Veronica herself, and the other characters, are so very real in how they react to the situations.
Even when Keith goes into the kitchen, at first I thought it would just be V imagining while she's crying on Logan what she wished would happen - kind of like how Buffy dreams Joyce is revived and taken to the hospital and they say she'll be alright before Buffy is snapped back to reality.
Especially with all of those dreams Veronica had been having. I am so glad that Keith was real. Enrico is great and I love Keith just for being Keith. The show (and Veronica) wouldn't be the same without him.
You know what really bugs me? I really hate that we missed the stuff between the kitchen and that kissing. I know V talked to him on the phone, and we know that. V said to Keith that she and Logan were supposed to talk, though, and I wish we could have seen them talk and re-establish a relationship that way. Instead, we just got a little kissing. I think it would have just been so much better to see the talk FOLLOWED by the kissing, and you know, shorten some less important scenes (Jackie and Wallace's storyline for instance). Anyway, though, it just seems like there had to be some serious conversation(s) leading up to them being so back together again. I get that I think V finally decided she could really put her trust in him when he saved her on the roof, and she saw that he really cared deeply for her and was there for her when she needed him most. And I think she believes what he said about epic love when he was drunk. Still, though, you know some conversation(s) had to take place between kitchen and kissing, and after watching them snipe all season, I just simply HATE that we didn't get to see that. I would absolutely love it if somehow next season we could still see what happened between in flashbacks, but I just don't think Rob will do that. I guess I just feel like Rob jumped to the kissing because he was afraid of them not getting renewed, and he wanted to leave fans happy. And I do think that was really nice of him, but I still have a hard time with it.
I want there to be kissing but I'm afraid they will do the same sort of thing they did last year where there is Summer LoVe and then they hate each other again by the Fall. I want to see the LoVe this time.
You know, I don't think they'll follow the same pattern as last year, because that seems stupid to me. I think they will be more creative than that. However, I DO hate the thought of Logan/Veronica having more relationship we don't get to see. I wish Logan or Veronica would have something happen so they couldn't (hardly) see each other over the summer or something. I don't see that happening, though. I just really HATE that they are going to be FINALLY re-united/together again, and we are going to miss all that fresh stuff. I mean, even if they are still together, after three months, we've missed a lot.
V said to Keith that she and Logan were supposed to talk, though, and I wish we could have seen them talk and re-establish a relationship that way.
The talking is not what they do well. I'm just going to believe that they kept putting it off until the trip to the airport and then they couldn't talk and decided that they would wait until Veronica got back from New York. Then I want them to start the new season with Veronica waiting in the airport. She'll call Logan back and they will drive back to the office where we will all find out what is in the briefcase.
I guess I just feel like Rob jumped to the kissing because he was afraid of them not getting renewed, and he wanted to leave fans happy. And I do think that was really nice of him, but I still have a hard time with it.
I like that in a Show Runner. I want them to want us to be happy. I like being happy.
I just really HATE that they are going to be FINALLY re-united/together again, and we are going to miss all that fresh stuff. I mean, even if they are still together, after three months, we've missed a lot.
Right. I felt cheated last year. They are going to have to at least show flashbacks, but that's what they did last year too. I want them to start right where it ended and then just move things along fast. Perhaps the new case requires Veronica to travel. Then Logan could be waiting for her in Neptune and she won't feel quite so bitter about not going to Stanford.
I keep getting called away from the computer so I'm just going to stop and post this now or I'll never get it up.
