More Gratitudes - # whatever it is
Two days this time.
1. That opportunities can still pop up out of nowhere.
2. That I am experienced enough to recognize them as opportunities.
3. It always comes back to friends. It's interesting looking at friends. Sometimes friends drift away. We gain new friends sometimes unexpectedly. Some friends are there for life, others just minor players. It's interesting, and good, to be fortunate to have a nice size group of close friends.
4. Learning to drop expectations. The local furmeets for example - you can't plan out everything you want to do there in advance. You might end up putting the event on a high pedestal where it's impossible for it to live up to your expectations. Learning to just show up and go with the flow is a powerful lesson.
5. The elusive, "Moment of Clarity". I had one last night. The last one before that was 7 years ago. A true moment of clarity is a rare event, and some people I'm told never have that moment. If you have never had one, a character, Benjamin Sisko from DS9, actually describes it best, "..for one moment, I understood it all. B'hala, the Orbs, the Occupation, the discovery of the wormhole - the coming war with the Dominion. For one moment, I could see the pattern that held it all together." So yes, I had one of those. A period of about an hour where I really could see the big picture. I'm thankful for it. Hopefully the next one won't be another 7 years.
