What's Underneath ...

In the spirit of Thanksgiving for this country's fans, here's a thought.

MFU actors are impeccably costumed. In every single scene, not a wrinkle, a smudge or a tear. Very different than for the Wild, Wild West where Conrad is always splitting his pants.

He looks good in that outfit. I'd argue we're seeing his BVDs (though not really BVDs, I guess) in that line on his thigh. The shirt might be one of those (I don't know what they're called) that have that elastic band around the bottom. Some men wore them back in that day as opposed to longer shirts. They were waist-length Like this:

Can't see it - could you unlock the image?

I don't appear to have an edit option anymore. WHY are my images locked? I'm not doing it.

If you remember 60s clothes, though, you've seen the shirts. They're like polo shirts, collared and button down, but they come in a bit at the waist with a band there. Very casual.

Looks like the only options are "friends" or "private" or "family" or things like that - no "everyone" option.

Have you tried going into your scrapbook album to edit, and setting everything to public?

Hmmm. I don’t know that “MFU actors are impeccably costumed” is necessarily the case. Napoleon was almost always impeccably costumed, but Illya was often pretty rumpled … even bedraggled. Of course, once rumpled he stayed rumpled … although they at least let him dry out if he’d gotten wet.

I have no idea on how Napoleon managed to stay so spiffy looking though.

You make a good point, that Illya is always doing the grungy, physical work. Doing so made for an interesting counter point between the two. Gave DMc more to do, in a different capacity. Water scenes, especially when both were involved, were interesting images. Once NS’s hair got messed up, it was all over. But you’ll notice NS never stayed “rumpled” very long. And, just as you said, IK could end the episode still looking a mess. I was thinking at least when they both walked out of headquarters. The suits were well tailored, etc. and IK always looked great in the turtleneck, and contrasting jacket and slacks effect. Or perfect when they wore a Tux. A familiar interview to all, DMc said he never wanted to spend the same amount of time in makeup/costuming as did RV.

Very interesting! Light colored trousers and certain materials like linen were often lined in the 60s, so I suspect you may be seeing a lining in the golf pants.

Lining, fair enough, for the 60's.

I've no idea how men ever wear boxers with pants and dont get fabric all bunched up. Mystery!

Do golf pants have longer front pockets to carry spare tees & such? I dont know!

I was thinking about that, would they carry tees, would be needed if they didn't have a caddy.
I love in this episode that IK is a caddy in a lovely suit.
How unsubtle did they need to be out there in the greens, waiting for their tip!

Appreciate the comment, thank you!
