German Copyright & AO3 (Article 17)
Hi Folks,
Just a quick post for anyone who's missed it to say that AO3 are calling on fans to protect the right of non-profit fanwork sites, like AO3, from essentially having to pay royalties to the copyright owners for the fanworks they host. EU rules (in this case Article 17) are essentially interpreted by each member state in order to bring them into their law - AO3 are aware Germany is in the process of doing this.
